Aim and Benefits of Scholarships for International BSc and MSc Students
Scholarships from ETH Zurich are always intended to provide subsidiary funding. They are designed to supplement other financial sources, and in particular contributions from the family, scholarships from foundations or the country of origin.
Requirements for Scholarships for International BSc and MSc Students Qualification
In addition to the financial situation of the student and his/her parents, all students need to demonstrate an adequate progress within their studies.
Requirements for the bachelor’s degree programme:
- Enrolment as a bachelor’s student at ETH Zurich.
- Passed the first-year exams in all parts / blocks (basic examination).
- After having passed the basic examination: Proof of at least 120 ECTS after an additional 4 semesters (incl. ECTS from first-year exams).
Requirements for the master’s degree programme:
- Enrolment as a master’s student at ETH Zurich.
- Non-Swiss master’s students without an ETH-BSc degree can only apply for a scholarship after successfully completing the previous master’s study year (min. 40 ECTS/study year).
- Further scholarship funding: Proof of at least 20 ECTS per semester or 40 ECTS in total in the previous two semesters.
Documents Required for Application
- Proof of income/pension of the parents Annual income of both parents before tax deduction for the year 2024:
- Proof of income after parents’ retirement (additional income)
- Evidence of assets (parents) .
- Proof of income (student)
- Contributions from authorities to the student
- Scholarship efforts in your home country
- Other scholarship decisions/loans P
- Evidence of transport costs (if your domicile is not in the city of Zurich) GA (General Abonnement):
All documents must be translated into German or English. We accept your own translation of the documents. However, the originals must still be submitted.
