The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is hiring a Part-time Operations Assistant (Field Support) to join their Rwanda operations team. This position plays a key role in supporting the smooth implementation of movement operations and providing assistance to beneficiaries during travel and transit.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate field teams of up to eight staff in areas such as airports, transit centers, camps, or sub-offices.

  • Supervise airport operations including document verification, escort services, and support for individuals with special needs.

  • Manage daily schedules for Field Support staff and ensure coverage for all arrivals and departures.

  • Oversee transit center operations, including accommodation arrangements, meal services, luggage handling, and medical checks.

  • Maintain organized flow of beneficiaries and ensure timely updates on flight schedules and changes.

  • Liaise with airport authorities, service providers, government entities, and UNHCR as needed.

  • Support pre-departure formalities, briefings, and travel documentation procedures.

  • Train and guide Field Support staff to maintain high standards of service delivery.

  • Ensure compliance with IOM Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and codes of conduct.


Education & Experience

  • Education:

    • Six (6) years of experience with secondary education OR

    • Four (4) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Experience:

    • Prior movement operations, transportation, or management experience is an advantage.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Internet).

  • Fluency in English (oral and written) required.

  • Knowledge of French or Spanish is an added advantage.

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
