Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the University of Hamburg Merit Scholarships, applicants must:

Be enrolled at the University of Hamburg for at least two semesters (Master’s students in two-year programs can apply after one completed semester).

Not hold German citizenship.

Not be eligible for the German Federal Student Loan Scheme (BAföG) under Section 8 of the German Federal Training Assistance Act.

Demonstrate good to excellent academic performance and additional academic achievements (such as publications, prizes, or awards).
Note: Doctoral researchers are not eligible for this scholarship.
