Position: Senior Budget and Programming Associate
As the Senior Budget and Programming Associate, you will provide technical and procedural support to ensure effective financial management, compliance, and optimal use of WFP resources.
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide technical support on budget and programming processes, ensuring compliance with WFP policies and procedures.
-
Review and analyze project budgets and financial performance; recommend improvements and corrective measures.
-
Manage fund and grant balances, identify surpluses or deficits, and optimize resource allocation.
-
Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements for budget and resource management.
-
Conduct spot checks on cooperating partners to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
-
Review and input project budget plans and revisions into corporate systems.
-
Prepare periodic and ad hoc financial reports and data visualizations.
-
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on complex financial management issues.
-
Support emergency preparedness and ensure readiness for rapid response.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
Experience:
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in data management, financial analysis, or business data analysis.
-
Proven skills in data interpretation, budget development, and use of analytical tools (Excel Advanced, SAP, etc.).

Strong background in handling and analyzing large data sets.

Excellent written and verbal communication

Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented

Ability to work independently and provide guidance to team members

Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural collaboration skills
Languages

Fluency in English (oral and written)

Kinyarwanda fluency is an advantage
