Position: Credit Analyst

Purpose of the Position:
The Credit Analyst plays a vital role in evaluating loan and credit applications to ensure sound lending decisions and minimize financial risks for UFC Plc.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct in-depth analysis of credit applications exceeding 5 million RWF, ensuring compliance with UFC guidelines.
Evaluate clients’ credit data and financial statements to determine risk levels.
Analyze client records and recommend appropriate payment plans.
Examine financial transactions, statements, and legal documents to assess creditworthiness.
Perform ratio, trend, and cash flow analysis to forecast financial performance.
Prepare comprehensive risk assessment reports for credit applications.
Conduct collateral visits for major loan requests.
Present credit files and recommendations to the Credit Committee, aligning with the 5Cs framework.
Collaborate with Branch Managers, Loan Officers, and other team members to gather relevant data.
Participate in Credit Committee meetings and submit reports on time.
Draft accurate notifications based on Credit Committee decisions.
Ensure proper documentation of credit-related activities according to policy.
Monitor ongoing loan performance and portfolio asset quality.
Consult with clients to verify financial information and resolve concerns.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 4 years of experience in credit analysis within banking or financial institutions.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel and knowledge of UFC’s Core Banking System (ICBS).
Excellent understanding of credit policies, banking operations, and financial management.
Proven sales and relationship management skills.
