About the Fellowship

The Harvard LEAD Fellowship 2026–2027 is a fully funded one-year program by the Harvard Global Health Institute in collaboration with the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
It’s designed to empower women leaders from low- and middle-income countries working in global health.

This transformative program helps fellows enhance their leadership, communication, and strategic skills while connecting them with a global network of professionals and mentors.

Program Duration

September 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027

  • Fall Semester (Virtual):
    Fellows continue in their current jobs while engaging in leadership planning, mentorship, and online training.

  • Spring Semester (In-Person at Harvard):
    A 6-week residency in Cambridge, Massachusetts (April 2027) — fully funded, covering flights, visas, housing, course fees, and daily sustenance.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.

  • Have at least 10 years of professional experience in global health (not including student work).

  • Work full-time in a recognized organization that supports their application.

  • Be able to obtain a J-1 visa and reside in Boston/Cambridge, MA for six weeks.

  • Have not held a full-time fellowship of 4+ months in the last two years.
