Job Description

The “IT Service Unit” fulfills the IT needs of SBL by providing proven, high-quality services on a day to-day operation with minimal disruption.

Duties and Responsibilities

Network and communication:
• Ensure all network devices configuration backups are taken and saved in a safe environment
• Ensure critical servers and network devices are all running on UPS.
• Design and Maintain network architecture and IP addresses scheme whenever there is change.
• Monitor network uptime and Bandwidth utilization and propose changes where required.
 
System administration:
• Ensure quarterly tests is done on the DR site to make sure the DR site can take over from the main data center when needed.
• Be in charge of backups and retrieval of resources.
• Ensure Active Directory is cleaned up with only activate PCs and Servers
• Ensure critical servers and network devices are all running on UPS
• Manage Active Directory Domain Services, DNS, Group Policies, File Server Services (DFS), and DHCP.
• Ensure any new server is well configured and set up.
• Perform basic system security functions, including securing and monitoring access to the server to ensure system users are properly identified, authenticated, and authorized.
•Troubleshoot any reported and unanswered technical queries to ensure timely solutions are identified.
Security issues resolution:
• Ensure all servers operating system and network devices IOS are patched and that all severity issues are resolved.
• Ensure firewalls are configured as per the international standards and best practice.
• Ensure that the current security system filters only allowed websites and that access is given to authorized users.
• Ensure anti-virus server (Sophos central) is working fine and that daily updates are pushed to all machines including servers.
• Ensure all external telecommunications are encrypted and secured.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or any other relevant degree from a recognized University or a recognized professional qualification in lieu.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technology and data center networking.
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Certified in Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) , Microsoft, Red Hat, or VMware.
  • Ability to multitask and work on demanding projects.
  • Experience with Windows (Windows Server 2016, 2019) and Linux (Red Hat, Centos, Ubuntu) installation and administration.
  • Familiar with Veeam Backup & Replication and NetApp Storage.
  • Excellent cross-cultural listening and communication skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
