About the Project

The Clinical Trials Center of Excellence (CTCoE) is a national and regional initiative aimed at strengthening Rwanda’s clinical research capacity. The project leverages partnerships with Karolinska Institutet (KI), International Vaccine Institute (IVI), UGHE, and King Faisal Hospital Rwanda (KFH) to develop research infrastructure, capacity building, and regulatory systems across two selected trial sites. The CTCoE will enable Rwanda to become a regional hub for clinical trials, supporting interdisciplinary research aligned with national health priorities.


Position Overview

The Project Coordinator will support the CTCoE’s day-to-day operations by coordinating administrative, logistical, and communication activities across project sites. Working closely with the Project Manager, the Coordinator ensures smooth project implementation, supports training and regulatory processes, and facilitates stakeholder engagement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager with infrastructure upgrades and procurement logistics.

  • Coordinate training workshops, CPD sessions, and mentorship programs.

  • Track project deliverables including GCP certifications, trainee progress, and regulatory milestones.

  • Maintain documentation systems, M&E data entry, filing, and inventory management.

  • Support IRB submissions and communication with Rwanda FDA and other regulatory bodies.

  • Schedule and document meetings for Executive and Scientific Committees.

  • Facilitate communication with community engagement and ethics training teams.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for leadership and donors.

  • Perform additional research-related tasks as assigned.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in research program support, project coordination, or administration.

  • Familiarity with clinical trials, health research infrastructure, or global health programs is an advantage.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

  • Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda (French is a plus).

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Workspace, and project management software.
